Tussigon is a brand name for a combination of Homatropine/Hydrocodone. It is used for the temporary relief of cough. Homatropine is an anticholinergic that works by drying up secretions such as mucous. Hydrocodone is a narcotic that suppresses the cough reflex in your dog's brain. Hydrocodone is a controlled substance.

Tussigon, which is also hydrocodone, has a couple different uses. It works really well as a cough suppressant, so some respiratory conditions that cause coughing are treated with it. These include chronic bronchitis, kennel cough, bronchial compression, and tracheal collapse. It also causes sedation, which helps both with coughing and when your dog needs to be sedated.

Tussigon is generally used for Kennel Cough, but it can also be given to dogs for an enlarged heart, bronchitis, or a collapsing trachea.
