A skin rash with bumps is usually associated with an allergic reaction. If the rash is all over your body you can bet it's something you ate. A localized rash, on your legs for instance, would indicate an allergic reaction with something you walked through. Poison oak, for example, would be a likely cause.

Typically, a skin rash with bumps is a sign of having an allergic reaction to something you used on your skin. These can be harmless or they can lead to a more serious skin condition or allergic reaction. These are hives which tell someone they have had an allergic reaction.
