How should I treat an infection of a navel piercing?

Please don't try and treat it yourself without first going to see a GP, you may need an antibiotic. It could be an allergic reaction or it could be an infection which could lead to septicemia , blood poisoning , and that can be fatal. Some people use salt water

Do not take the piercing out! It can trap the infection in your navel (nasty stuff). Also, you should go to see your piercer at your nearest convenience. In the mean time, I would suggest sea salt compresses. You can also try a product called H2Ocean, its all natural so you can't use too much of it.
