Bougainvilla's are a wonderful vine that do well in a warmer climate. Check your zone before buying one. They also sprawl like crazy, so make sure you have room for them. Their roots are very delicate so use incredible care when taking them out of the pot. Also, they're drought tolerant once established, so don't overwater.

Be sure you live in USDA zone 9 or higher. Bougainvillea doesn't like cold weather. (It will die back even in zone 9.) Plant carefully -- it doesn't like its roots to be disturbed. Then stand back. It will grow to be very large (10' or more) in year or so.
