As long as they aren't/haven't choked on it, I wouldn't worry about it to much. Hopefully they will pass it (I would try and look for it in the stool), but if you are really concerned, you could go to emergency, or contact your family doctor, but I don't think it's necessary.

I would just wait for your child to pass the money back out again. I would watch to make sure that they didn't have any stomach cramps or possibly bleeding, and if they did I would take them to the doctor. But truly I think it will pass by itself.

You should seek the pediatricians advise or an emergency room as soon as possible because it can get lodged in their intestines or other digestive area and cause complications. It is possible for it to pass without needing surgery but seek your pediatricians advise!

First, you should go to the emergency room and get an x-ray to make sure that the penny is not stuck. Then the doctor should give your child a laxitive to help the child pass the penny when using the bathroom. It should not hurt the child, so do not worry too much.
