I would recommend they learn their ABCs, 123s, colors and shapes, name, phone number, and how to dial 911. That is what I taught my children to do when they were that age. Believe me, you will be amazed how much they can remember at that age. They will be very ready for school.

At the age of three years old kids can be learning all sorts of things! Their minds are like little sponges absorbing everything around them but they all learn at their own pace. Some three year olds are even starting to read and write. Just take it at your child's pace and encourage him/her for a bright future.

3 year olds should be starting to work on the very basic principles of math and reading. You should read to them every day, and have them start describing stories based off of pictures. Work on color, letter and number recognition. Teach them the alphabet as well!

If not already done potty training is a must at this age to be ready for school. Should start their ABC's and should be getting read to so that they are ready for preschool. Learning how to play with others, to color in coloring books, to start drawing pictures.
