What kinds of careers call for skills in analytical research?

I have to take a course in school this term and I don't know why.

Any science, statistics, engineering, business, finance, or economics related fields require this skill set. Actuary science deal with insurance and other fields. It requires an understanding of statistics, data interpretation, etc. It is relatively high paying and has a heavy emphasis on analytical research and computational analysis. Another field is in risk management and investments.

The medical, legal, math and science fields require skills in analytical research. An attorney needs to be able to conduct research, analyze and apply different types of law. Medical and scientific progress does not happen without analytical research. Math is built on analytical research. Engineers constantly use analytical research in their work.
