The CFM term is (Cubic Feet Per Minute) it is the standard measurement of airflow. A typical system requires 400 CFM per ton of air conditioning. I have a 3000BTU 1.5T air conditioner and my CFM is around 1200. But the CFM also depends on how old your air conditioner is, the older it is, the less CFM output.

It all depends on the type of conditioner you have. Your cubic feet per minute will usually be in excess of 20 for most standard small home air units.

A CFM has to do with the amount of airflow in air conditioning. Therefore a typical air conditionar would have about 400CFM per ton.
