For starters locate and replace the fuse. It's a 3 amp fuse and you'll find it on the circuit board in front. if it blows again you have a short circuit going on somewhere.

Depends on your model, but some of the models have the fuse in line with the transformer. So check there too. Also you can replace it with a fuse up to 5 amps.  add a comment

This is what an error code 24 on your Carrier Air Conditioner is: Secondary voltage fuse is open. Check for - short circuit in secondary voltage wiring (24 VAC) wiring. You can start from there and figure out what to do.

What model exactly do you have? I;m sure your Carrier came with a manual and the manual has the explanations for these codes. Can you explain what happened before you started getting this error code?

Error cde 24 indicates an open circuit in the secendary voltage, look for loose wires and then test/replace the fuse. If this fixes the problem, good. If the fuse blows again immediately you have a short and should call a pro.

Well, the best solution is to contact the customer service company and they can tell you what exactly you need to make it work.

Well without knowing the brand and model no we can't help you troubleshoot it. Different makers use different codes for errors so it oculd be anything under the sun. Find out what brand and model it is and repost again with this so that we can help you fix the problem.

Check your owner's manual and see what is states about error codes and if they are numbered. Call the 1-800 service number and see if a service representative can help you troubleshoot. Contact a local Carrier service technician and ask questions to see if they can assist you.
