The west highland terrier or "westie" is a breed of dog which originated in Poltalloch, Scotland. They tend to be on the small side; 10 to 11 inches in height. They are white in color with a rough outer coat. "Westies" are very affectionate making them extremely good family pets.

West Highland terriers are known for their white coats. They are also a non-shedding dog!! They weigh between 15-20 pounds. They also tend to sleep when their human counterparts sleep, making them an excellent choice of pet. They are fondly refered to as "westies" by dog loving fans.

The "Westie" is small, friendly, self-reliant but easy to train dog of the terrier family. They have a white double coat and weigh between 13 and 22 pounds.
