Your baby should be growing throughout its time in the womb. If its very early in pregnancy, this could be a sign that it is not viable.

Babies are supposed to grow, if they don't this is an indication that something is unusual and your doctor will want to find out what sort of unusual this might be. Usually this means that the baby is not getting enough energy to grow larger, which your doctor will want to change for the better.

It depends on what stage of the pregnancy you are in when you are told this. If you are in the first month, then it is likely the baby will not thrive and you may have a miscarriage. If you are in late term, they may have to do Caeserean.
