a lost cause for JVC Tv`s sound is that some have a manufacturing defect. I myself have one and the same problems at home. I think I would not recommend the JVC TV

It could be on mute or the volume is down. Check the audio inputs; they could have fallen out or not be securely put on. Make sure these component cables work and are secured to both devices. If that is not the case, it is likely that the tv may have blown out a speaker and need repair.

Maybe there is a bad wire connection between the sound board and the t.v. Worst comes to worst, it might be possible that there is a manufacturing defect.

The easy solution is that your connection from the wall/cable box/satellite reciever is bad, possibly due to a loose connection or frayed/broken cable. Otherwise, the problem could be internal to your TV. A bad speaker or bad wire connection from the motherboard to the speaker would result in lost audio, especially if your TV is older.

The worst case scenario is that your speakers are blown (do you ever have sound?). Another cause could be a bad wire connection between the sound board and speaker (intermittent?).
