Excessive salivation is very unusual in ferrets. Have them checked by a vet immediately for rabies. Animals don't alway die quickly as mild symptoms can be present for months before death. If it's not rabies, consider changing their diet and provide water more often.

Excessive salivation in ferrets can be caused by a lot of things. Ptyalism, canine distemper, rabies, botulism, and even seizures could all be the culprit. However, since you have two that do it is is probably something infectious. That isn't necessarily serious, but your vet is the best person you can consult for a diagnosis and treatment for these symptoms.

Pseudoptyalism is the only thing that I can think of. This is caused by nausea and really you should consult a vet.

There are a variety of things that can cause this, such as liver failure, parasites, and poison. You may want to take them to a veterinarian to see why.
