In the larger counties in Texas, there are courts set up to exclusively do Texas probate cases. courts. In smaller counties, one or more of the county courts will handle probate matters. A Texas probate proceeding is overseen by a probate judge. The degree of supervision the judge exercises in each case depends on several factors.
