What can you tell me about pruning a ficus tree?

I actually just pruned my ficus. The important thing to remember is to not cut in the middle of the branch. Cut each overhanging branch all the way off to the stem. The best time to prune is when the tree is actively growing; spring or early summer.

Remove all dead twigs and weak growth in center of tree then remove a third of their outer growth on all stems and branches to shrink the trees canopy.
