What are some good hobbies for 12-year-old girls?

My daughter and her friends are always bored.

My Mom used to cook with me and my friends when I was that age. She'd stay away from stuff like cookies and cakes and instead allow us to pick the culture and make a meal. Each of use got a task to do, we'd decorate the table, and eat!

I have found that most girls love crafts. I would have them make scrapbooks of themselves and their friends. They can take pictures at sleep overs, at the park, etc. and then make the scrap book pages.

well, i enjoy making Sock Animals (Monkeys, cats, etc.) You can get a book on that from any craft store. I also love Scrap booking, and making friendship bracelets. A lemonade stand is always a good way, by making your own deserts and earning money. You could also sell jewelry.

i think the best thing for a 12 year old to do (being 12 myself) is to tyr something girly, like... dancing, ice skating, craft, drama, gymnastics, singing or reading. those are things i enjoy being 12.

I am twelve myself. She could collect things that are exotic that no one else would really collect. I myself collect banana stickers. It keeps me busy every once in a while :-)

I play the cello. it can be rewarding, but is very hard work. I have just turned 12 and get boared easily. Try not to go to expensive for the first few years, in case you stop for any reason.  add a comment

You could always teach them how to scrapbook. It is fun for all ages and they can make a scrapbook of their time together. On that note you could get them a digital camera to take pictures of themselves with.

Scrap bookings cool I guess, I'm just really no into it. I'm 12 but i am tomboyish. You should ask the girl. 'Do you like photographery and crafts?' I'm more into music, sports and duck tape. It's really different for everyone.  add a comment

If they're interested in horses, sign them up for riding lessons. If not, try dance or gymnastics. Or try book clubs; most libraries offer them.
