What are the best drawing books at Hobby Lobby?

One book that I have purchased is "The Big Book of Realistic Drawing Secrets" by Carrie Stuart Parks and Rick Parks. I appreciate it because it has wonderful illustrations and covers very basic, to complicated techniques. No matter what your skill level, you will find this an excellent source of lessons and inspiration.

Strathmore Sketch brand, i used it as a young artist. It cheep, good for beginning artists. For an advanced artist, Canson is heavy weight, with just a bit of a tooth. The paper is strong, can take erasing. Good with graphite, pastels and colored pencils. I highly recommend this product.

The best to buy is completely subjective. You need to figure out what kind of drawing you want to do (figurative, representational, animals, landscapes, et cetera) and then flip through them to see what would be most beneficial to you. Each person has their own unique skills or talents, so each book is going to strike you differently.

My favorite is "Drawing for the Absolute Beginner. " I've always wanted to learn to draw and this book has given me tons of ideas.

Hobby Lobby does have some excellent drawing books. You have to choose according to what subject you would like to learn to draw. Landscapes or still lifes are a good start. Also, consider whether you want to draw in pencil or pen and ink. Pencil or charcoal is more forgiving.

Hobby Lobby's merchandise changes over time is that makes it hard to know which books are always carried there. Try looking for Harold Speed's The Practice & Science Of Drawing.

If you are a beginner drawer I would suggest the books from Bruce Bain since they offer the best information when it comes to drawing and show you step by step technique on each picture.
