This former All-American athlete taught and coached Texas high school students before beginning his ministry with his wife of 20 years, Rose. They have 3 sons ranging from 8-18. Having been mentored by Dr. Edwin Louis Cole, Watkins has made mentoring men (his main focus) and has developed the "G-Men Strategy" for churches. He's currently building a retreat center.

Pastor Watkins started Powerhouse as a means of discipling spiritual men who could mentor other men, help restore marriages, and recreate the relationship between parents and children as God intended. He is currently working on a retreat center for his flock.

Pastor G.F. Watkins from the Powerhouse Christian Center started in 1996. He has knocked on doors in the area of Katy. He has invited people to join a church that believes in a mission to restore order in a chaotic world. So far he has gathered 3000 members who believe in his mission to "Win the Lost".
