A subliminal message could include a hidden image or word to subconsciously affects ones view on a product person, or idea. A Palmolive ad showed a woman sitting holding her legs in the shower. If looked at closely, one arm is a man's arm holding her. This ads subliminal sex appeal.

Subliminial messaging could be seen in a lot of commercials. Of course, if it was obvious it wouldn't be subliminal. Try checking the body movement of the actors in the commercials. Most commercials that are related to hygiene have a subliminal message that tells "Hey, if you use this product you'll be sexy"

"True" subliminal advertising, the insertion of a 1 frame message in an ad, is generally illegal so you wont see much of that. You do often see commercials where things are shaped to look like phallus', etc. Generally, if you can see the "subliminal" message, it's not a real message.
