My bass is making a buzzing noise when I play. What's wrong?

It sounds like your strings may be contacting the frets. You should heighten your strings. There is a certain tool you can use to do so. I think its a hex wrench or even just a plain old screwdriver. You can heighten the strings near the bridge of your bass.

You either need to raise the bridge, or you might just have a short in your cable. The other possibility is that you might be too powerful for the amp that you are using.

If it is a "buzzing" on a particular fret, you need to adjust the truss-rod; otherwise, it could be a problem with the wiring or your volume and tone knobs.
