Is Kilz primer worth the money?

I am getting ready to repaint my whole house.

Yes, especially if you are planning on painting over wood or walls with color imperfections. Kilz will prevent pesky knots in hardwood from bleeding through paint. If you are only painting clean drywall, then you can get away with using a less expensive alternative. Kilz is especially worth the money if you are painting exterior wood siding.

Kilz primer is a great product and definately worth the money. If you don't prime first, you will most likely need more than one coat...maybe more depending on the color.

A Kilz primer may be used before painting. I find it only necessary however if the walls absorb a lot of paint or the pait is very dark.

Well if you have some badly stained walls or you think the old paint will bleed then you should buy it. If you have clean already painted walls you won't really get much benefit over a normal primer. It may be better if you are paint a porous surface like brick or cinder block though.
