Question by  Enigma (33)

If I take violin lessons, what is a reasonable adult's pace?

Unfortunately as an adult it will take longer but it varies from person to person. If your a quick learner and have a good ear the begging levels should go by in a matter of months. This is lower level books and no memorization.

If you are going slower than you think is normal, you shouldn't be alarmed. You learn the most as a child, because that's when it's easier. So when you try to learn something as an adult it's a lot harder to catch on and learn new things.

Everyone works at a different pace, especially when it comes to learning instruments. If you already know how to read music, I am certain that will be an advantage.
