You can have bleeding for up to 2 months after your surgery because this surgery is extensive. However, it should decrease in the amount because your insides are suppose to be in the healing process.

A little bit of spotting is normal after a hysterectomy. However, if you start having larger amounts of bright red blood coming out, you should seek help.

Spotting after hysterectomy is a cause of great concern. The vault of the vagina may be a cause of bleeding or there may be an ulceration of the vaginal wall. Consultation with the gynaecologist for the condition should be done immediately. A per vaginal or per speculum examination should be done. A biopsy may be required.
