How do you install a used CD burner in a PC?

My uncle gave me his old one, but there are no directions.

Open PC, and connect IDE cable it to the back of the drive. Attach a power cable to the 4 pin connnection in the rear of the drive. Mount drive.

Make sure that you have the right cable ( sata, or ide ) then turn off your computer and install the drive. Then turn the computer back on.

Install the drive into an empty slot, connect the power cable and IDE cable. If you plan to listen to audio CDs, connect the audio cable to the motherboard.

Open the case up and locate the connector ribbon and power cable. Remove the cover blocking the drive opening and mount it. Then plug it up and test it.
