Before you do anything get a harness that will adapt your car wiring to the new car stereo. Remove radio trim. May need a manual if trim is difficult coming off. Remove radio fuse. Disconnect radio wiring. Tape bare wires. Remove old radio and use the same hardware if possible to install new radio. Get hardware kit if needed. Install radio. Install fuse.

Make sure you have a new wiring harness that is compatible with your car. Remove old head unit and disconnect the wires. Attach the harness by color for new unit.

It is a good idea to buy a book or research online for the detailed process. Basically you install the radio after wiring int he power, speakers, and antenna wires. However the process can vary from car to car. Most stereos have an install manual that you can acess online.
