A burn is infected if there is a discharge coming from it. This is normally pus, and is a symptom of cellular death resulting from an infection. The redness you are seeing is merely the burn pattern, which will likely stay until new skin forms. You may notice some peeling in a week or so.

There will be pus coming out of it. If is the redness is spreading from the area. I would recommend seeing your doctor.
