Your employer will take out taxes of your paychecks based on the W4 form that you filled out. That should include commission checks.

Commissions are income, just like any other. Your employer should withhold taxes from these checks; if they don't, you will still have to pay.

Commission checks are considered income, and therefore taxable. However, it is up to your employer if they take out the tax before they issue the check, or if you will be liable for taxes at year end when filing. You can check with your payroll department to see if taxes will be deducted.

Even though commissions appear to be different than hourly pay or salary, the money received as commission is still considered income. Therefore, yes, you will have to pay taxes on this money.
