You first should be notified of the return, afterwards you may be charged a returnd check fee that should be no higher than $25.

Checks under $100 can be fined up to $500 and/or 12 months in jail. Checks from $100 to $300 can be fined $1000 and/or up to 12 months in jail. Checks for more than $500 can be fined from $500 to $5000 and up to 3 years imprisoned.
