Probably not; a cheap rat trap would work better. Bait the trap with a little peanut butter and some nutmeat or grains on top, and observe the chipmunk's path of travel. Place the trap perpendicular to the chipmunk's "path" so he will be sure to find the bait.

I would try metal wire mesh before nylon. Chipmunks are rodents that love to chew and nylon just doesn't seem like it'd stand up to their chompers. They might be deterred by scent (bloodmeal worked for our squirrel problem), or by nasty taste (cayenne sprinkled on the plant).

To keep these little critters away from plants, you can use moth balls or moth flakes, sprinkled around plants. Chipmunks also detest garlic. You can steep garlic in water and add a few drops of dish detergent and spray on plant you want to protect. You can trap them and transport them elsewhere, as an option, too.

Nylon netting is flexible, easily obtainable, and cost effective. It's also light weight, while still durable. It can be made from existing materials, or purchased online. If you want your garden to be organic and environmentally friendly while still keeping chipmunks out and your plants healthy and safe, nylon netting is a great option.

Well yes it will be effective but not that effective. You might consider actually getting coiled netting or something made of wire. Something that is made of wire will actually keep the chipmunk away. You can also use a spray to keep the chipmunk away such as ammonium. Spray around the plant.

I do not think so, I would use garlic or lavender to keep these and other little critters away from your garden. Though mesh would protect against weeds. Chipmunks have teeth and can gnaw their way through almost anything. I would stick to repelling rather than restraining. though I can offer no absolute. I know they dislike garlic,

Most likely a nylon netting will not be enough to keep a determined chipmunk off of your plants. You can try something more heavy-duty like wiring or put a feeder out for the chipmunk that is located away from your plants.

Chipmunks can chew through almost anything, so nylon netting probably would not be an effective deterrant. Try sprinkling the plant with red pepper.

I would say that nylon netting is an effective way of protecting your plant from a chipmunk, however this also depends on the size of the plant.

Probably not. Chipmunks have teeth that can chew through a lot of different kinds of things. They are also very small and can easily squeeze in and out of small areas.

You can make a safe homemade spray that keeps them away from your plants. Mince a garlic clove and add two tablespoons of cayenne pepper; add to pint of water.
