Yes. Cat urine permeates anything it comes into contact with. That includes Pergo flooring. The only way around this damage is to get many cats and gradually become accustomed to cat urine. This with prevent non-cat loving friends from visiting your fetid home, but then again, this is a part of living with cat urined-soiled surfaces.

While it has a warranty that covers normal wear and tear, Pergo is not indestructible. Cat urine could definitely cause serious damage to your floors if not dealt with immediately. You should immediately absorb the urine with an absorbent towel, and then use a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water to clean the area. Make sure to dry well.

If the urine is left on the floor for too long, it will ruin Pergo flooring. Urine is acidic and can eat away the flooring finish and soak into the wood. Pergo flooring is compressed wood pulp with a laminate finish on top. You cannot sand or stain this type of product.

Not necessarily, if you notice cat urine on your floor immediately wipe it up and follow the spot with warm soapy water on a turkish towel then dry the spot. It is extremely important that you do not allow any liquids to remain standing on pergo floors. Remember to clean up any spill, wash and the dry.

If you clean up cat urine on your floor quickly, it will most likely not do damage. If it has stayed there awhile, it will stain.

Cat urine shouldn't destroy your pergo but should be cleaned up quickly. If its a self clicking floor and liquid gets in between seams it can create swelling.
