"Windmills" produce rotational-mechanical-energy. A small "wind-generator" or "wind-turbine" produces from a few-hundred-watts to a few-thousand-watts depending on the its-capacity-rating and your-local-area's "wind-power-density", Which is enough to run most-household's lighting & small-electronics demands. You need to charge batteries and use an inverter to power your electric loads when the wind is not blowing.

Depending on the setup a small windmill can produce some energy but the amount will typically be fairly small. It may produce enough energy to run your t.v. for an hour or to run a low-draw item for a few hours. You may want to look into installing solar panels which can produce more energy for a similar cost.
