Will a Maltese hurt a tortoise?

Any household dog or cat has the potential to hurt or even kill a pet tortoise. Any turtle or tortoise should be supervised carefully around another household pet, at very least until you determine how your other pets react to the tortoise. There's no hard and fast rule, each animal is different.

There will most likely be a time when a Maltese would happen to hurt a tortoise. Anything is possible and in this situation, the chances are probable. A Maltese has relatively sharp teeth. It is also faster than a tortoise.

I would have to say yes. Any dog has the capability to hurt anything (including a tortoise). However, a tortoise may be able to hurt a Maltese dog as too.

A lot of predators will view a turtle as a last resort for food. For a creature as large as a tortoise, it would be very unlikely for a Maltese to hone on the critter for a means of sustinance. They are simply too large.

Speaking in terms of probability, there will most likely be a time when a Maltese will hurt a tortoise. Anything is possible and this specific situation is actually probable. A Maltese has relatively sharp teeth and could hurt a tortoise that way. It is also faster than a tortoise so the tortoise would not be able to run away.
