Why would hooking my subs to a factory cd player drain my battery?

I hooked my subs to factory cd player and it drains my battery.

Well the factory cd player has a little consumption , so little that the battery can support it for enough time . When you hook (plug) the sub the consumption becomes bigger therefore draining the battery

Your subs are pulling a great deal of power from your factory head unit. This will not change if you buy a different head unit, it could even be worse. You might want to check your alternator to see if it's working fully or check to see if you need a new and better battery.

First if the remote wire is not properly hooked up then the amp will continue to receive power. Or you have a bad alternator.

As long as you keep your car running while you're playing and you have a good battery, they shouldn't. Also, make sure your amp isn't drawing power constantly.
