Why should you change your bed sheets once a week?

You should change your bed sheets at least once a week (if not more) because otherwise they get dirty and can become a breeding ground for germs. When you sleep, you often sweat, and you always shed skin cells. In addition, sexual fluids can leak onto the sheets and make them unhygenic.

For basic hygiene reasons. If you have an allergy, the flu or any weeping sores or rashes, clean sheets will help germs from spreading. A week's worth of sleep is about 56 hours of sweat, dribble or cosmetics being ground into your bedding. It's generally accepted that once a week is good to keep clean.

Bed sheets should be changed once a week because of hygiene and cleanliness, and should never be compromise. Hair and bodily fluids rub off on sheets and pillowcases. They can also cause unpleasant odors and can also serve as a breathing ground for bedbugs, dust, mites, etc. Persons who use their bed as a desk, should change more often.

This is really for hygiene. Changing the sheets less often could lead to having bed bugs which could seriously irritate the skin. Also, since sweat may accumulate on the sheets and cause a bad odor. People with sensitive skin could develop rashes or skin allergies if the sheets are not cleaned regularly.
