Depending on the year and ignition system of your Jimmy, it could be moisture contamination under the distributor cap. On some models, the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve) could be stuck open.

It sounds like your fuel regulator is not functioning properly. During normal operation, it should feed a steady amount of fuel, allowing your Jimmy to run smoothly. If this "brain" is malfunctioning, instead of a steady flow of gas, it instead feeds the gas in spurts, causing it to surge.

It sounds like your fuel pump is going on your Jimmy. When fuel is not pumping to the motor it will bog down.
