well if you had two guinea pigs and one of them died your other may be suffering from depression and you should give it lots of love, get another guinea pig, or take it to the vet.

Guinea pigs can stop eating for a variety of reasons; intestinal upset, parasite infections, poor diet, cancers. The guinea pig should be seen by a veterinarian who works with small mammals. The answer could be as simple as a diet change or new supplements. The vet will want a list of all foods, bedding and supplements the pet is getting.

Not eating in guinea pigs is a sign of many illnesses including problems, GI stasis, and upper respiratory infections. It is critical that you handfeed (make a pellet mash with water and feed by syringe) and get your pig to a qualified exotics vet ASAP to save it's life - they need to eat every few hours to stay alive.

Guinea pigs store food, just because your pet is not eating the food you give, does not mean it is not eating from it's own personal stores.
