Sometimes is automatic transmission gear selectors the spring that works the button can move or become displaced. If the button seems like it won't depress this may be your issue. Also, be sure that the selector is all the way into park before trying to move it out and your foot is firmly on the break.

Usually this means that the brake pedal is not meeting the switch. Make sure the break Pedal Switch connects when you push on the pedal. Otherwise, the key insert should be located on the center console near the shifter and that will allow you to reach Neutral, then you can start the car.

There can be a few reasons for this. Check the transmission fluid level because this can sometimes cause poor shifting. Another more clumbsy reason for this happening is that the key is not in the off position and is causing the shifter to lock up as a safety feature. Check the key because this has happened to me before.
