There is a chance that your OS might have corrupted. Try reinstalling it by formatting your computer or check that any of your hardware may be damaged or worn out. If you still experience the same problem there is a chance for a hardware failure like any mother board accessories.

There is an error or a virus that is preventing it from shutting down. Pull the plug if it is a desktop or the battery if it is a laptop and then replace it and restart it. Start it in safe mode, load Ad-Aware from the Lavasoft website and then scan your system.

First check the power cords. If those are fine, then check your monitor connection (maybe its not outputting to the monitor). If you have the starting BIOS screen, then the problem is with the "boot loader". Just insert your Windows DVD and start up the computer. Follow the instructions to "Repair" your system and there should be no more problems.

IT probably has a virus that messed up the computer. The best way to fix this is to just restore all of the files on your computer

There are different reasons: 1. The bootstrap gets damaged from previous in-appropriate brutal shutdown. 2. Computer is at low memory. 3. Some running applications are hang due to their bugs.
