Blinkers will do this to signify that they are almost burnt out. It is pretty simple to fix. Go to the local auto store and let them know that you need a bulb for your year Maxima. The bulbs pop out pretty easily and you just insert the new one.

The blinker setting is often factory set so you cannot change it. But there are aftermarket products one could hook up to alter the blinking of the taillight.

Its very easy to fix. It blinks fast to indicate that one of the blinker's bulbs is burnt out and needs replacing.

This means either you have a bulb that is blown and it's making the other bulb blink to fast or there is something wrong with your turn signal relay. Both should be relatively easy to replace.

Normal blink is about half a second. If under warranty bring Maxima back to dealer. It is very easy to fix. There is only one item to be replaced. It is called 'relay'. It is part of the electrical system. It can be found in the relay box. No other item should be touched.

There is probably a wiring issue on your Maxima. This should be an easy fix that would only take about an hour max.
