Why does my Jeep 4.0 starter crank slowly?

Check to make sure the battery has full output then make sure there isnt a voltage loss before the starter, if thats not it starter may be weak.

Well this could be caused by a few different things. The main you should check is you battery and charging system. Run checks on the battery and the alternator to make sure that you have a solid 12volts when you try to start it and that you have a good charging current. Then test the starter.

The starter draws alot of power during cranking. Most often, the cause being a weak battery in your vehicle, the starter won't crank as fast as it should. Another reason would be not good power connection or the starter is wore out and needs replaced.

You should check the condition of both your battery and your starter. A low battery may not have enough charge to turn the starter if the starter is satisfactory.

Two possibilities. The first is a low battery, and I am sure you have checked that. The second is a bad starter. A starter can get weak without quitting entirely.

Slow cranking often means your battery is nearly dead, or else the starter has gone so bad it's drawing way too much current. Test with a known good battery.

The starter could be worn out, or your battery could just be dead. Also check to make sure that your piston rings arnt worn out. If so replace immediately. be sure to check valves and and cylinder pressure.

Start by checking your battery and if that good then it could be the seals on top of the fuel pump. They to go bad in Jeeps.

It is possible that the battery is not fully charged. You can have your battery checked at most automotive stores. You might also check your starter solenoid, and associated fuses.

First check your battery and then check the wires which connect the battery with the the starter. Sometime the wire may have cracked and needs to be changed. Also check the condition of the battery.

It appears that your starter might be going out at this time. You will need to get this looked at and replaced.
