Why does my dog display aggression against the leash?

A leash isn't a natural object for a dog to get used to. Having something tied around it's neck and restricting it's movement isn't exactly ideal. Your dog needs to be positively trained to enjoy their leash, showing them that it won't hurt them and that it can be enjoyable.

This is a normal act of aggression. If your dog appears to seem angry, it means that your dog does not like the leash. If a somewhat silly look is on your dogs face, or it is wagging its tail, then it means that your dog is "playing with the leash". Check body language as well.
