Why does my cat always close one eye?

The likeliest answer is that there is an irritant of some sort in that eye. Dust, or a small scratch might be annoying the cat.

If you have more than one cat in the house, or you cat is an outside cat, sometimes it could mean that they got scratched by or on their eye so they keep it closed to help heal it. It could also mean it has an infection.

Your cat could have something stuck in the eye that he always closes that is irritating him in some way, or he could have some sort of infection in that eye. He could also have a neurological problem that is causing him to close one eye. You should take your cat to the vet to be checked.

She could have a problem going on with the eye. You should probably take her to your vet to find out.

many cats do this, its almost like a lazy eye in cats in is usually nothing to worry about. However if your cat spends all day with one cat closed it may have an infection and should be checked out by a vet.
