Just like any alcoholic beverage, wine is considered a depressant, so that's why it makes you so tired and relaxed. The alcohol content is very high but it has such a light taste that you don't often realize how much you even drank and that's why you get sleepy after drinking it.

Drinking wine may make you tired due to the wine's alcohol content (typically between 10 and 15 percent). Alcohol is categorized as a "depressant", which tends to make people sleepy.

Aside from the alcohol and the context in which it is usually drunk, meaning in the evening and with a meal, wine contains chemical compounds that act as sedatives. These compounds are found in the phenols and phenol byproducts that are released with air exposure. Wine, especially red wine, contain more of these active phenols.

When drinking wine you become more tired then if you were to drink other drinks because the grapes used in wine making have melatonin. The melatonin is what makes you feel tired.
