Why do politicians want to take music out of schools?

There is an increasing expectation of education authorities to achieve higher percentage pass rates in what are traditionally referred to as the achedemic subjects. The removal of music classes from the school curriculum both increases the schools pass rate and provides politicians with a greater chance of achieving their targets.

Politicians want math, science and languages to define how well a school is doing. They can be measured objectively more than subjective subjects like music
