Perhaps there is still some of the anesthetic that the dentist injected into the gum still in your system, and it's gravitated to your cheek. It might just feel numb, due to the trauma from the dentist stretching it back for the tooth removal.

This is normal, the nerve could have been bumped or have a little damage, if it last for more than a few days call your dentist.

The initial numbness was caused by the pain killer the dentist used to numb your pain when the tooth was extracted. The numbness takes a while to wear off.

I think that is still the anesthesia working. It will take a while especially with tooth extraction. Just give it another day.

HI, i just had my upper molar extracted yesterday and have the same numbness you describe. It only became numb earlier so if it was the anaesthetic you would think it would have been there as soon as the procedure was done. It is quite alarming!
