The face on the current American dime is that of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. His face has appeared on the American dime since 1946. Current dimes are sometimes referred to as "Roosy's" by collectors because of his name. President Roosevelt's face replaced that of the mythical god Mercury whose likeness graced the dime from 1916 through 1945.
