Who wrote Russian Christmas music?

Alfred Reed wrote it. It's called that because Reed was trying to make the piece sound "Russian". Some of the music is based on genuine Russian Christmas carols and other tunes, but the work was not created spontaneously by a Russian, but was a commissioned work made to sound artificially "Russian".

In 1944, Alfred Reed wrote "Russian Christmas Music" in just 16 days. This piece of music has become one of the most popular pieces of music to be played by concert bands at Christmas time. Reed used an ancient Russian Christmas carol as the basis for his work on this piece of music.
