General Gordon Meade was a career US Army officer who's biggest historical accomplishment was victoriously commanding the Army of the Potomac during the Battle of Gettysburg in 1-3 July 1963. He defeated the confederates, under General Lee, but his forces were too mauled to pursue the defeated Southern Army.
