Saint Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians. She vowed to God to remain a virgin, but her parents arranged to have her married. At her wedding Cecilia was singing a hymn of love to Jesus in her heart, whom she believed to be her true spouse, thus she is associated with music and musicians.
