Reupholstering can be a lot cheaper if you do the project yourself, especially if you have some of the materials at home.

If the framwork is sturdy, and the overall style of the furniture is to your liking, the reappolstering is the way to go. Buying new furniture means you get what you pay for. You'd end up buying some cheap furniture for the cost of reappolstering good furniture.
